Introducing Compact Canine Rescue

Compact Canine Rescue is a network of volunteers committed to rehabilitating small dogs and rehoming them with forever families in the Mid-Atlantic Region. After receiving their official nonprofit status in early 2022, they saved their first dog one month later. Three and a half years later, they've saved over 300.

When they first started, Compact Canine needed it all: a website, a back-end system to manage the animals, and a way for all of their systems to work in unison. They also needed volunteers, who themselves needed training, as well as a mechanism tofor Compact Canines to use those volunteers to share the administrative burden of running a rescue.

That's when they asked around and heard about Buzz.

Before Buzz: No Website, No Systems

Rescue Director Kathy Oberto and a group of like-minded ladies knew they needed to start from scratch with their rescue back in 2022. Because they were just getting started out, affordability was a key element in their journey. They also needed a partner that could grow with them, and help them design and build their website.

Back in 2022, Buzz was still growing as well, and Kathy felt we were a good match because of our responsive support, our openness to feedback, and our willingness to build out features young rescues needed.

While other back-end animal rescue software systems require a separate, fully functioning website (and a certain level of technological and financial maturity) to get started, Buzz was a better fit because it was essentially an all-in-one solution to their problems.
